The exhibition presents works by Katharina Göppert on care work, crip time and values.
Between performance, text and silhouettes, questions about the visibility and payment of labour are negotiated.
The quality of Katharina Göppert’s artistic position lies in the fact that she gives a voice to marginalised groups and at the same time – depending on the viewer’s perspective – negotiates existential themes and challenges of the neoliberal world order.
The special potential of her works lies in the combination of poetic, aesthetic clarity with close insights into systems that structurally deprive the individual of air to breathe – without any didactic gestures.
The works she is showing in the HIGH FUNCTIONING exhibition deal with care work and attributions that are assigned to people read as female. The exhibition will show both existing works that have been newly developed for the space in a site-specific way – for example, a work-out performance that has been relaunched as a fitness video – as well as a work that has not yet been shown, which addresses crip time.
