Caro Mendelski
Caro Mendelski (*1988) is a voice actor and performer from Stuttgart. After graduating in Literature with Art and Media studies and a Minor in sociology at the University of Konstanz, she studied Speech Training (BA) and Media Speaking (MA) at the State University of Music and the Performing Arts Stuttgart. The overarching subjects of her work include the relationship between text and spoken word as well as choral speaking in the performing arts. Her works move formally between performance, audio installation and lecture performance and investigate the topics of feminism, embodiment and rituals.
She works as a voice-actor for various radio and TV formats (including arte, SWR, ARD), dubbing and live-audio description.
She developed performative speaking choirs for the Theaterhaus Jena (“Leaving Carthago”) and the Theater Prekariat (“Der Apfel ist kein Apfel”), among others.
She writes dubbing scripts and directs radio plays (including the interactive radio play “DIE SCHÖNEN LAUEN”). She also works as a performer and develops her own performances. Her lecture performance “A Body of one’s own” was invited to Theater Rampe and to various theater-festivals. She performed on stages such as Staatstheater Stuttgart, Volksbühne Berlin (P14), Theater Konstanz and was invited to work with collectives in the off-theater scene. She worked with with René Pollesch (“Was hält uns zusammen wie ein Ball die Spieler einer Fußballmannschaft” & “Du hast mir die Pfanne versaut, du Spiegelei des Terrors”), SHE SHE POP (“Oratorium” & “Wir sind der Protagonist”), Showcase Beat Le Mot (“Zack fertig!”), Volker Lösch (“Cocka Hola Company”) and Schorsch Kamerun (“Sommernachtstraum im Cyber Valley”).
As part of her Graduation at the HMDK Stuttgart, she directed the radio plays “Herzstück” (2017) and “Der erste fiese Typ” (2019). Since 2018 she has been a lecturer at the HMDK Stuttgart Drama School.
